ABOUT BRUCE KIETZMANN

Bruce Kietzmann grew up on the South Coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal in the 1970’s enjoying an active outdoor life as a junior lifeguard and surfer. He enrolled in the South African Navy for a period of 54 months during which time his mustering was in operations and navigation.

A further 48 months was enjoyed between the Mediterranean and deliveries to the West Indies as the private skipper to a British businessman based in the South of France. All this sailing ultimately led to a career change from the sea to the African bush where Bruce joined an overland tour Company ’Drifters Adventours’ operating tours and safaris throughout Southern Africa, and later as a resident and professional guide in Botswana specialising in walking safaris by mode of a dugout, canoe / tree, called a ‘mokoro’ punted with a long pole and gratitude.

Bruce and a partner founded a tour company in Constantia Cape Town to facilitate Botswana clients from South Africa before he moved on to Wildside Adventures as management of their adventure T.V. programmes for Mnet television channel. However Bruce managed to find himself mid North Atlantic heading towards Walvis Bay off the Namibian Coast when the clocks turned to 2000, as the captain of a 400 ton fishing boat on delivery from San Diego USA.
Bruce has an interest in a silver nano particle compound from the USA and is involved in identifying chemical signals found to be common in both plants and humans.

Bruce has resided in Plettenberg Bay since 2002 working various community projects from being involved with Knysna Aids Council as the Southern Cape HIV Forum herbalist to the wildlife industry in guiding and educating the conservation of our natural environment.

Bruce is the founding member of a non profit organisation, "The Green Ticket Org" a re-forestation programme looking at re-establishing bio-diversity of both indigenous Fauna and Flora to damaged overgrazed or deforested areas primarily in Southern Africa.
