A TYPICAL DAY
Our focus is as much on the projects as is on the Life Skills Student
All work is written into an individual project log book, on goals, work accomplished, requirements and suggestions, this is a record of project ownership and responsibility and can be perused by the following in-coming students for guidance / reflection.
Transport requirements to different projects are sorted out for the day at this time. Times do vary but, in general projects start between 08h00 and 09h00. The days projects end accordingly with the task at hand, (between 13h00 and 16h30) unless working with the conservation and wildlife projects which sometimes dictate the hours needed!
A light lunch is made by you in the morning and taken with.
Evening meals are between 18h30 and 20h30. All meals are prepared by the students including cleaning up.
Evening debates are encouraged amongst students to glean ideas from each other and create lateral thinking and input, to question the norm and think out of the sphere when approaching their projects and life.
Certain courses like astronomy and African folklore are evening based and a comfortable relaxed atmosphere is the norm.
The life skills programme encompasses physical strength and endurance, through long hours in the African outdoors and one tends to sleep well on fresh air and physical activities. Seminars and classroom education for the ecology and first aid courses are a welcome break.
